Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Medical Advice

The TRAVERSE Study is the largest and longest randomized controlled study of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) ever conducted in middle-aged or older men with confirmed low testosterone levels. The results, published in 2023, confirmed the cardiovascular safety and long-term effectiveness of TRT. Improvement was seen in quality-of-life indices such as libido and energy.

The HIM clinic offers testosterone replacement therapy for men who qualify for such treatment. The clinic also addresses erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence.

If you are interested in improving your overall quality of life, your libido, your sexual performance, and your prostate health then The HIM Clinic may be just right for you. We invite you to come explore treatment options with us.

Opioids and low serum testosterone

Are you diagnosed with chronic pain and/or opioid use disorder? Are you treated with opioid medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, hydrocodone, or oxycodone for these conditions? If so, then you are at risk for opioid-induced hypogonadism (low serum testosterone). If it is essential that you continue taking these medications, then I recommend you should have a blood test to check your serum testosterone level. If low, then you may wish to consider testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Potential benefits of such therapy include cardiovascular protection, increased libido, increased energy, increased cognition, stronger bones, and much more. Dr. Johnson has 30 years of experience in the treatment of opioid use disorder. He can safely medicate you for this condition while at the same time mitigating or lessening some of the potential adverse effects of treatment such as decreased libido and loss of bone mass.
